Our Library Challenge encourages people to discover the ghost story in all its forms, visit their library to explore further & share their favourites.
Libraries can download the booklet, but anyone can discover ghost stories right now.

Central Library Coventry & launch of our Challenge! (26th March 2026)
Last night we launched the Weeping Bank Library Challenge, inviting you to discover The Librarian's tales & the spooky stories that inspired him.
Thanks to Coventry Libraries & Emma from the National Literacy Trust, who joined to talk about the National Year of Reading 2026.

World Book Day at Wombourne Library, 5th March 2026
Not many World Book Day events had a librarian reading a chilling story to adults at night, but that is exactly what happened when The Librarian read 'Figure on the Pier' in the newly refurbished Wombourne Library.

A welcome return to Cannock Library and another sold out reading of 'Figure on the Pier' in partnership with Staffordshire Libraries.
Another literary event in support of the National Year of Reading 2026.

'Figure on the Pier', Bromsgrove Library, 10th Feb 2026
Thank you to the people of Bromsgrove for ignoring the unrelenting rain to come and hear The Librarian read one of his chilling tales at Bromsgrove Library for the first time.
This outing of 'Figure on the Pier' marked yet another literary event in support of the National Year of Reading 2026.

London Month of the Dead, 1st Nov 2025
Thanks to a recommendation from fellow writer & storyteller Adam Z. Robinson, we were invited to perform at this iconic festival. Selling out in just two weeks, it was a very special performance at the eerie Guy's Hospital Chapel.

Thanks to Alex from the UK Ghost Story Festival and Dan from Museum of Making for making us so welcome. We had a great time welcoming some new visitors to Weeping Bank. Thanks for all the lovely feedback.

Thanks to Deputy Mayor Pete Lee, the staff of Dudley Library & local legend Robert Plant - always such a great advocate for access to culture in the Black Country - for launching this Arts Council funded tour to take atmospheric and immersive ghost stories to the people of Dudley.
